We are concentrating on the nexus of art and activism in pursuit of Black liberation and the preservation and protection of Black creativity.

Pierre Bennu, our inaugural artist in residence, directed a video series highlighting the divine power of creativity. Taken as a whole, this collection of works celebrates hidden beauty, deeply-rooted joy, and our collective power to imagine a world beyond our reality. His residency series is a meditative collection of multi-media short films exploring themes of resilience, self-love, well-being, legacy, healing, and liberation. Videos from the series were screened at live, community-based concerts in Inglewood that month and later in the year at BLMGNF’s participation in One Music Fest.
